Whalen Web Marketing Inc. is me - Todd M. Whalen - an SEO professional with over 10 years experience optimizing hundreds of websites ranging from small businesses to large corporate websites.
Founded in 2005 in Wilmington NC, the company has only recently begun accepting clients - a decision that allowed me to dedicate time to raising my two young children from home until they reached school age. During that time, I’ve maintained a network of close to 50 of my own websites, carefully optimized and fine tuned to produce affiliate sales and generate income allowing the company to flourish without the need for clients.
Now with my kids old enough for school, I’ve decided to share my skills with clients in the Wilmington area in order to expand the company. (And get out of the house!)
SEO Experience
- I began my career in search engine optimization working side-by-side and learning advanced web marketing techniques from a true pioneer and one of the most respected names in the SEO industry, Ginette Degner, at her company Service Brokers/Search Engine Services in Las Vegas NV from 1998 to 2001.
- I received my first SEO certification from the Academy of Web Specialists in 1999.
- In 2001, I became the in-house SEO for a nationally known enterprise software company where I successfully restructured their Internet marketing strategy and generated more sales leads in my first 8 months of employment than the company had received in 3 years prior to my arrival.
- I received a second Certification in Advanced Search Engine Marketing Strategies in 2004 after completing a course by Search Engine Workshops.
- Since relocating my family to Wilmington NC in 2004, I have been self-employed by maintaining a network of around 50 of my own affiliate marketing websites - constantly experimenting and testing new and advanced search engine optimization techniques on a daily basis.
Someone once told me "Until you’ve lived it, you’ll never know."
The experience I’ve gained through relying solely on my own websites to provide for my family has given me a unique perspective - I know what it means to live and die by the success of a website.
